Dr. Pierre Olivier Lang is a specialist in internal medicine, preventive medicine public health, and geriatrics. He was Privat-docent at the University of Geneva and at the University of Lausanne, and Professor at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge (UK). It is a member of several scientific societies. During his training in epidemiology and biostatistics (MPH, PhD), he worked on the frailty process and its prevention. After complementary training in molecular biology in England (Cranfield University – Translational Medicine research group), its research activities become more oriented to the aging of the immune system.

Pierre's works then concerned with the diagnosis of the immune senescence process, its impact on the physiological and pathological process of aging, and its reversion. The implication of immune senescence in the vaccine response and adaptation of vaccination programs for seniors are public health concerns, especially in Project I-REIVAC (National Network of Investigation in Vaccinology, INSERM, Paris, France). It also keeps active scientific collaborations in Switzerland and abroad on other topics such as the detection of inappropriate prescribing medication (STOPP-START Tool), frailty, and the organization of hospital care settings organization. He is also the author of more than one hundred and fifty scientific publications.
