Pierre Foex DM, DPhil, FRCA, FANZCA, FMedSci

Dr Pierre Foex was Training in Medicine, University Hospital, Geneva (1960-1969). Joined the Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics in January 1970 as a research fellow, later Clinical Lecturer, University Lecturer, Clinical Reader. Nuffield Professor of Anaesthetics (1991-2012). Throughout Pierre career, Pierre has been interested in cardiovascular physiology and cardiovascular pharmacology, especially in respect of myocardial ischaemia and drug interactions. Such interests are highly relevant to anaesthesia, intensive care and perioperative medicine, Pierre areas of clinical activity for 30 years. Pierre continues to be involved in research and teaching, both in Oxford and in London at the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
