Pier Carlo Bergonzi MD

Pier Carlo Bergonzi, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Anesthesiology Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Bergonzi was a Senior Staff Physician at San Raffaele Hospital and Scientific Institute and also served as an Intensivist Expert Consultant for Fondazione Salvatore Maugeri in Milan, Italy.

Dr. Bergonzi began his career at San Raffaele Hospital and Scientific Institute in 2006 as a Staff Anesthesiologist and Intensivist in the Department of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia. He worked as an anesthesiologist in the emergency and general surgery operating rooms as well as in the Acute Pain Service for the treatment of post-operative pain. As part of this role, Dr. Bergonzi also worked as Intensivist in the General Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, and primarily handled trauma, respiratory and post-operative cases. In addition, Dr. Bergonzi was as a member of the MET (Medical Emergency Team) at the hospital, treating patients with medical, surgical or traumatic emergencies both in the wards and in the emergency department.
