Philomena F. Mcandrew MD

Philomena McAndrew, MD, is a native of Philadelphia and a graduate of Villanova University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at Temple University Hospital. After moving to Los Angeles in 1982, Dr. McAndrew completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After completing fellowship training, Dr. McAndrew held a full-time position at UCLA, where she cared for patients at UCLA clinics, performed research, and authored scientific papers and abstracts on lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and breast cancer. She has also served as the clinical vice chief of medicine and the chairperson of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Medication Safety Committee at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. McAndrew is an active member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Southern California Academy of Clinical Oncology, the American Medical Association, the Los Angeles County Medical Association, the California Medical Association, Women of Los Angeles, and the American Society for Breast Disease. She has a special interest in treating breast cancer and is a board member of the Wellness Community and Research for Women’s Cancer. Though Dr. McAndrew maintains a busy professional schedule, she has a full, active family life. She and her husband have a son and a daughter. Dr. McAndrew enjoys travel and cooking.
