Professor Philip Boyce is Professor of Psychiatry at Westmead Hospital and Head of the Perinatal Psychiatry Clinical Research Unit at Westmead Hospital. A past President of the International Marcé Society, Philip has had a long-standing clinical and research interest in perinatal mental health. He has conducted research into psychosocial aspects of postnatal depression, examining risk factors for the disorder, particularly the role of personality and obstetric risk factors. His current research focus is into the impact of psychotic disorders on women in pregnancy and in the postpartum period.

Philip has published extensively and has contributed many chapters to psychiatric textbooks. He is currently an Associate Editor of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry. Both before and after his Presidency, Philip has maintained an active involvement in College affairs, including as Chair of the NSW Branch, Secretary of the SA Branch, a NSW and SA member of General Council, Chair of the Board of Research, Chair of the Committee for Educational Projects and Deputy Chair of the Board of Education.
