Dr Philip Batty qualified at the University of Liverpool. He is now a consultant with a strong experience in Sports and Exercise Medicine, particularly Rehabilitation. He is on the GP Register and Specialist Register for Sports and Exercise Medicine and has been involved in elite sports medicine for 18 years.

Dr Batty worked as the deputy club doctor at Manchester United before joining Blackburn Rovers FC as Head of Sports Medicine. He combined this role with positions at the English Institute of Sport and Sedbergh School. He became Head of Sports Medicine at Manchester City Football Club in 2011-2012 before taking on his current role as Senior Team Doctor for the England Rugby Team, and as one of medical team at Isokinetic Medical Group

Dr Batty's areas of interest are Sports injuries, Exercise Medicine, Ultrasound imaging, injection therapy, prolotherapy and rehabilitation of injuries.

He has served as the Training Programme Director in Sports and Exercise Medicine for the North West and also on the Speciality Advisory Committee. He is a member of Council of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine and also holds positions as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford and University of London, as well as working as an Honorary Consultant at Wrightington Hospital.
