Petros P. Sfikakis MD

Petros Sfikakis, MD, qualified from the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1985. He pursued postgraduate doctoral studies in internal medicine, immunology and rheumatology in Greece and USA and worked as an Assistant professor of Medicine in Uniformed Services of University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland USA.

He joined the faculty of the Athens Medical School in 1995 and since 2009 serves as Professor of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and Director of the First Department of Propaedeutic Internal Medicine and Rheumatology Unit, at "Laikon" University Hospital. Currently, he is the Dean of the School of Medicine. His research interests focus in the field of autoimmune rheumatic diseases and acts as expert reviewer for more than 40 international journals and research funding bodies.
