Prof. (USA) Dr. Peter Wehling is a specialist in orthopedics and sports medicine with a focus on non-operative orthopedics. He has published numerous research projects in international journals and has authored the book “The End of Pain”. Peter laid the scientific basis for regenerative pain therapies and has translated this research into meaningful clinical applications. He graduated from the School of medicine with academic qualifications in Cologne, Montpellier, Dusseldorf, London (Ontario) before completing his doctorate and MD at the Heinrich-Heine-University in Dusseldorf in 1983. This was followed by a residency in orthopedics and traumatology before becoming the senior physician of the orthopedic department at the University Clinic Dusseldorf, Germany. In 1991-1992 he worked as the chief senior physician at the Clinic for neurosurgery in Osnabruck, Germany, specializing in rare and severe spinal cases. After that, he founded private practices providing novel non-surgical treatment options based on his research on inflammation, pain, and the optimal conditions for tissue regeneration.
As a former spine surgeon, he has seen and appreciates both sides, the surgical and non-surgical side of the orthopedic treatment spectrum. Peter is an internationally recognized expert in the field of regenerative medicine and molecular orthopedics, focusing on the treatment of chronic pain and care for top athletes. With his methods, he treated Popes, Princes, Professional Athletes, and film stars, as well as thousands of less famous individuals. Numerous athletes from NBA, NFL, major soccer leagues, and many other professional sports are looked after by him. Peter was an appointed adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA. To the present day, he is a faculty member at Heinrich-Heine-University Dusseldorf, Germany, and an adjunct professor at Duke University, NC, USA.
