Peter S.N. Van Rossum, MD, PhD, MSc is a Resident in Radiation Oncology at the University Medical Center (UMC) Utrecht in the Netherlands. The Netherlands (Dr. J.L. Noteboom, Dr. I.E. van Dam). In 2017, he has been awarded the UMC Utrecht Fellowship Clinical Research Talent 2017 grant, which allows him to work as a postdoctoral researcher (besides residency) on image-guided individualized treatment for esophageal cancer and lung cancer. In 2016, he obtained his PhD degree through the defense of his thesis on individualizing multimodality treatment for esophageal cancer at the UMC Utrecht (Prof. R. van Hillegersberg, Prof. M. van Vulpen). During his PhD program, he was appointed as a research fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas (Dr. S.H. Lin) in 2014 and 2015. As part of his residency, he performed another research fellowship at MD Anderson in 2018 (Dr. S.H. Lin, Prof. R. Mohan). He obtained his postgraduate Master’s degree (cum laude) in Epidemiology at the University of Utrecht in 2015, specializing in Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Statistics. He is a member of ASTRO, ESTRO, and NVRO.
