Peter Milligan

Peter began his career at the Wellcome Foundation and has moved along with the changes in the organization, the company is now known as GlaxoSmithKline.

During his career, Mr. Milligan has held the job titles of Operations Analyst, Systems Programmer, Analyst Programmer, Architect, and his current role of Director of Enterprise Architecture.

During his time in this role, he has been responsible for the overall infrastructure, application, information, and business architecture for development and commercial Strategy within R&D IT. Mr. Milligan’s key responsibilities are the definition of investment cases through re-use of core services, design patterns and standards, providing Architecture Leadership and direction in support of some R&D wide architecture projects and providing a focal point for resolving problems in order to ensure that the enterprise architecture is delivered in line with objectives and is right for the company as a whole. He also maintains appropriate communications channels with other relevant IT groups and projects, in order to facilitate cross-departmental working and opportunities for reuse, and co-ordinates the relationship with key vendors to assess suitability of standard solutions.

Mr. Milligan grew up in Liverpool, England, and currently resides in Tring, Hertfordshire.
