Peter Laurberg MD

Professor of Endocrinology and Internal Medicine, Aalborg Hospital, Aarhus University Hospital Professor Laurberg’s main fields of research have been thyroid disease prevention, epidemiology, diagnosing and therapy including iodine and thyroid and pregnancy and thyroid.

Professor Laurberg has received many awards, including Endocrine Society (USA) finalist prize for outstanding clinical publication in JCEM (2003) and The European Thyroid Association Henning prize (2004). He is also affiliated with a number of organisations, including Member of Board of Directors, International Council for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (ICCIDD), Honorary Professor, China Medical University, Shenyang, China, and Member of the DanThyr steering group monitoring the Danish Iodine programme. He served as President of the ETA 2008-11 and is currently co-chair of the ETA Guidelines Board, and chairman of the ETA public health board
