Dr. Peter Jens Achim Kneuertz is a thoracic surgeon at The Ohio State University, he strives to provide the best possible care to patients with lung cancer and esophageal cancer, as well as a wide range of other thoracic disorders. His highest priorities are my patients, their best interest, and their overall well-being. I feel honored to care for and support his patients and their families every step of the way.
His clinical interests include lung cancer, esophageal cancer, thymic tumors, airway surgery, and chest wall surgery. He also treats benign conditions, such as hyperhidrosis, myasthenia gravis, esophageal reflux, and achalasia. He utilizes minimally invasive surgery, such as Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) and Robotic Surgery whenever possible. These innovative techniques aim to cause less surgical trauma and pain for the patient and yet offer the same benefits as traditional procedures.
Additionally, he does his very best to advance the field of medicine, through research and through education of fellows, residents, and medical students. His research involves clinical studies focusing on oncology and patient-reported outcomes. At the OSUCCC – James, he has the privilege of working with a dedicated team of expert physicians. We have a multidisciplinary and patient-centered approach to providing the most targeted treatments.
