Peter H. Macarthur MD

Dr. Peter MacArthur is a board-certified family medicine (primary care) physician with a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine. He has a special interest in the prevention and management of all musculoskeletal and athletic injuries. He also is widely experienced in the use of diagnostic ultrasound, therapeutic platelet-rich plasma, prolotherapy, regenerative stem cell injections and ultrasound-guided procedures.

Before he joined Inova, Dr. MacArthur most recently served as a team physician for professional soccer and baseball teams: DC United (MLS soccer) and the Potomac Nationals (Minor League baseball).

Dr. MacArthur became interested in sports medicine because of his own interest in sports and active living. His goal is to help his patients of all ages return to their desired activity level as quickly and safely as possible following an injury or illness.
