Dr. Peter Asnis earned his undergraduate degree cum laude in biology at Harvard College and his MD from Cornell University Medical School with Honors in Research. After finishing a general surgery internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Asnis completed his orthopedic residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where he was awarded the Jean C. McDaniel Resident Teaching and Leadership Award. Dr. Asnis completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, and following his fellowship, he joined the Mass General staff.

Dr. Asnis is the Head Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Boston Red Sox, Head Team Physician for the Boston Bruins and is a Team Physician for the New England Patriots. He is an Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as a Member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Additionally, he is a member of the Team Physician Societies for the NFL, NHL, and MLB.
