Peter Clemmensen MD

Peter Clemmensen graduated as MD at the University of Copenhagen, currently Professor of Cardiology at the Department of Cardiology, University Heart and Vascular Center, Hamburg-Eppendorf. Previously, the President of the Acute Cardiovascular Care Association and Past President of the Danish Heart Foundation. Professor Clemmensen has published more than 400 scientific papers (N Engl J Med, Lancet, Circulation, Eur Heart J, J Am Coll Cardiol, Am Heart J, Am J Cardiol, Heart) and authored chapters in international textbooks. H-Index 66.

Research interests include reperfusion therapies and organisation in patients with STEMI, antithrombotic therapy, and electrocardiology. Professor Clemmensen mentored 14 completed dissertations. Participated in many clinical trials and registries ranging from investigator to Steering Committee functions: FRISC II; DANAMI1-3; PLATO; EUROMAX; TRILOGY; MULTIPRAC; CULPRIT SHOCK; ECLS SHOCK. He has served on several national and international end-points committees and DSMBs as well as working groups, including the Joint ESC/ACC/AHA/WHO Committee for redefinition of myocardial infarction 2000, and its 2004-2012 GLOBAL MI Task Force.
