Peter Bower is a Professor of Health Services Research and Lead at the Centre for Primary Care, University of Manchester. He has a first degree in psychology and first started to work in primary care when he took up a PhD studentship within the Department of General Practice at St George’s Hospital Medical School, exploring GP recognition of depression.
Following completion of the PhD, he joined the new National Primary Care Research and Development Centre (NPCRDC) at the University of Manchester, where he worked throughout the lifetime of the Centre.
