Pergert Pernilla PhD, RN

Pernilla Pergert is Associate Professor in pediatric healthcare science at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden and has a PhD in pediatric science. She is the research leader of the “Childhood Cancer Healthcare Research” group at Karolinska Institutet, focusing mainly on intercultural care & clinical ethics in pediatric oncology. She also has long experience of working in pediatric oncology/hematology as a pediatric nurse specialist at the Childhood Cancer Care Unit, Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden.

Pergert is a member in the SIOP Nursing Steering Committee (member 2015- still, chair 2016-2018) and since 2018 of the SIOP Scientific Committee. She is also involved in the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer. She is the responsible course coordinator and examiner of the Swedish national education in "Pediatric Oncology Nursing", which is carried out at Karolinska Institutet (2012-still), in collaboration with and the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund.

Pergert is active (member 2008-still, chair 2014-2018) in a Working Group on Ethics of the Nordic societies in pediatric oncology/hematology for physicians/researchers (NOPHO) and nurses (NOBOS). Pergert is also part of the team responsible for a Nordic education program in facilitating ethics case reflections in the healthcare team, conducted by the NOPHO/NOBOS Working Group on Ethics in collaboration with Dr Molewijk, VU University.
