Penelope Schofield PhD

Professor Penelope Schofield is the Professor of Health Psychology in the Department of Psychology and an Honorary Principal Research Fellow at Department of Cancer Experiences Research at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, where she was formerly the Director and maintains a large and active research group.

A behavioural scientist with over 25 years’ experience conducting research in the field of psycho-oncology, Professor Schofield has held numerous leadership roles which have informed research strategy, policy and service delivery to promote cancer control in Australia and overseas. Her current research focus is to assess and improve the quality of life, psychological morbidity and other patient-reported outcomes of those undergoing and completing cancer treatment via the development and testing of evidence-based psycho-educational interventions, which can be readily adopted into clinical practice.
