Dr. Peggy Alexander received her D.D.S. degree from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in 1981. She also received a Certificate in Dental Hygiene from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1957. Dr. Alexander is currently Clinical Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dental School. She also serves as a Research Associate the Department of Periodontics at the UT Health Science Center.
Prior to her appointment at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dental School, she had served the National Health Services Corps, in the United States Uniformed Services and maintained a private practice in San Antonio. Dr. Alexander's research interests include control of infection, cross contamination in the dental setting, parafunctional habits and their effect on the dentition, and etiology of dental erosion.
