Peggy A. Norton, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Urogynecologist, who treats women with urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. She is Chief of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery and Medical Director of the Pelvic Floor Center, a multidisciplinary center where women can be seen by physicians from urogynecology, female urology, colorectal surgery, pelvic pain, and physical therapy. Dr. Norton specializes in the surgical treatment of incontinence and prolapse, especially for those women whose initial treatments have not been successful or durable. She has been researching funded by the National Institutes of Health since 1990, and her research interests range widely from important clinical trials published in journals like the New England Journal of Medicine to award-winning research into how pelvic floor disorders run in families.

Dr. Norton graduated from the University of Oregon, School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at the University of Oregon. Her fellowship in urogynecology was served at the University of London, England. She has been a faculty member with the University of Utah since 1988. Dr. Norton is equally busy at a national level, serving as the first woman president of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons and president of the American Urogynecologic Society. She is involved in many activities at the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, focusing on patient safety and practice guidelines in gynecology.
