Pedro Lima, MD, MSc is a physician passionate about Medicine practice but captured by Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Research, and Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry.
He finished Medical Residence in Gastroenterology & Endoscopy in 1996 at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), and has been working at the ICU at Rio de Janeiro University (Uni-Rio) since 1995 as an intensive care physician.
In 2003 he started to work in the pharmaceutical Industry at GSK Pharma in Brazil then moved to GSK Biologicals (vaccines). In 2008 he was invited to work at Genzyme Latin America as responsible for developing the company Pharmacovigilance System in Latin America. This was a great time with a great team he was able to develop. Since 2014 he has been working in the Sanofi Global Pharmacovigilance team supporting and managing Latin American PV affiliates. he has completed a PV diploma and a PV MSc at the DSRU in partnership with the University of Portsmouth in the UK. He also has a Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Safety certification from DIA. His next objective is Ph.D. in Pharmacoepidemiology or Epidemiology.
He is a member of ISoP and ISPE and has been speaking about PV in Latin America in Congresses in Brazil, the US, and the EU.
