Paula Cristina Paulo Videira Da Silva is an Assistant Professor at the Laboratory of Histology and Embryology, Department of Microscopy, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) of the University of Porto (U.Porto). Her Teaching experience covers Histology and Embryology (Human and Comparative), Animal Models of Human Disease, and Science Communication. She is the Director of the continuing training course Science Communication - Life and Health Sciences (6ECTS). She obtained her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from UPorto. Paula Silva presents in her CV 35 original articles published in journals indexed in the Science Citation Index (SCI), 1 book chapter, participation in some I & DT projects, and numerous works in many national and international congresses. At present, her main research topic is the influence of polyphenols in Mediterranean Diet foods on chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, and on scientific communication. Recently, she joined as an integrated member of the iNOVA Media Lab, ICNOVA, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, a research and development laboratory dedicated to the study of immersive and interactive narratives, human interface technologies, innovation and digital transformation, new media literacy, science communication, social media, and information visualization.
