Dr. Paula Strait graduated with honors from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she trained with Dr. Irvin Korr, world renowned physiologist and champion for osteopathic medicine. It was at TCOM that she began to understand how trauma affects our autonomic nervous system and options for soothing injury.
Dr. Strait practices community medicine in Maine. She has over forty years of experience in prevention and healing. Her practice focuses on partnership with patients and being mindful of our innate self-healing. Her interests include the injured brain and neuroregeneration. She has special expertise in Rural Emergency Medicine, Functional Neurology, Osteopathic Manipulation, Nutrition and Stress Management. She is a professor with the Academy of Comprehensive Integrative Medicine and has held board certifications in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. Previously Dr. Strait was an assistant Professor with the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine.
