Paul Yip Siu Fai BSc(Hons)(Melb); PhD, DCS(La Trobe)

Paul Yip currently serves as an associate dean (Research) of the Faculty of Social Science, the founding director of the Centre of Suicide Research and Prevention and a chair professor of the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at The University of Hong Kong. He was the chairman of the committee of preventing students’ suicide in Hong Kong and a member of the Steering Committee on Population Policy and an associate member of the Central Policy Unit of the Hong Kong SAR Government. He was a recipient of the Stengel Research award, outstanding supervisor and researcher, knowledge exchange award of the University of Hong Kong; distinguished alumni of La Trobe University, Australia. He received the Medal of Honor from the Hong Kong Government in 2018 for the service in suicide prevention for Hong Kong. He has published more than 500 research papers relating to population health and suicide prevention.
