Dr. Hoff grew up in a medical family; his mother is a nurse and his father a surgeon. His passion for medicine developed through formative years following college working as both a research assistant and a graduate student in cardiovascular pharmacology at the University of Michigan. In 1989 he earned his Master’s degree and then immediately began medical school in his home town of Ann Arbor. After completing medical school at the University of Michigan in 1993, Dr. Hoff was accepted to the otolaryngology residency program at Michigan, where he finished his training in 1999.

During residency he was awarded an American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Resident Research Award. Upon graduation Dr. Hoff joined Michigan Otolaryngology Surgery Associates where he has been in practice since 1999 and Section Head of Otolaryngology at St. Joseph Health System since 2011. In 2015 Dr. Hoff joined the faculty at the University of Michigan as an Assistant Professor. He maintains practices at both St Joseph Mercy Health System in Ann Arbor and at the University of Michigan.
