Before Accelerated Sports, Paul was a physical therapist with the Institute for Athletic Medicine for seven years. He is one of the first graduates of the Minnesota Sports Medicine/Fairview Sports Physical Therapy Residency program, where he studied with some of the most respected physicians, physical therapists and athletic trainers in the Twin Cities sports medicine community. In 2007, he received his certification as a Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy.
