Paul Agapow PhD

Paul Agapow has been working at the intersection of computation and biomedicine, showing how informatic approaches over integrated data can be applied to tough biological problems. Originally a biochemist & immunologist, he retrained to move sideways into computational biology. The mystery of what factors underly susceptibility to infection and poor outcomes led him from the Health Protection Agency (UK) to the Data Science Insititute at (Imperial College London) and the wider questions of personalized medicine and why health outcomes differ. He now continues this research in the pharmaceutical sector, using biomedical Big Data with AI for improved development of therapeutics.
