Paul Kostenuik, PhD, has 30 years of R&D experience in various therapeutic areas. Starting in muscle, followed by graduate and post-doctoral fellowships in oncology, bone and mineral metabolism, and orthopedics, he then began a 16-year industry career at Amgen. As lead scientist on Amgen's denosumab program, Paul followed and supported the molecule throughout its preclinical and clinical development programs, regulatory approval, and blockbuster commercial status.
As Scientific Director in Metabolic Disorders Research he oversaw biomechanics and biomarker labs, while researching and publishing in oncology, osteoporosis, orthopedics, immunology, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, muscle, kidney disease, pediatrics and dental disease. One of Amgen's most collaborative and published scientists, Paul managed >150 industry-academia collaborations and authored >100 peer-reviewed manuscripts. Dr. Kostenuik was recently appointed as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
