Paul Fadakar primary clinical and academic interest is in kidney transplantation. During his fellowship at CHP, he studied transplant immunology in the lab of Dr. Diana Metes at the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute. He contributed to the ongoing translational research projects in human immunology investigating the role of T follicular helper cells in the pathophysiology of antibody-mediated rejection in kidney transplant recipients. As a faculty member, his goal is to learn how we can improve the outcomes of our transplant patients.

Dr. Fadakar is currently working on a quality improvement initiative to implement an education program that teaches CHP adolescent patients to take ownership of their post-transplant care and facilitates the eventual transition of their care to an adult nephrologist. IHe is also reporting some of the unique cases from the transplant cohort, including a series of patients with antibody-mediated rejection.
