Dr. Celestre is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spine surgery. He received his undergraduate degree in chemistry at the University of California Los Angeles and spent three years researching nanotechnology in the lab of the Nobel laureate Dr. J. Fraser Stoddart. He then went on to medical school at the University of California San Diego. He completed his internship at the University of California Los Angeles Department of General Surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Celestre completed his fellowship training in spine surgery at the Norton Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He has been in practice at Ochsner Medical Center since 2015.

Dr. Celestre is very involved in resident and medical student education at Ochsner. He is the residency program director for orthopedic surgery and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Queensland Medical school. Dr. Celestre is also a fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society, and an American Orthopaedic Association Emerging Leader. He served as the Program Director of the 2019 Louisiana Orthopaedic Association Annual Meeting. Dr. Celestre and his wife, also a surgeon at Ochsner, live with their daughter in New Orleans. His hobbies include fishing the waters of southeast Louisiana as well as cooking.
