Mr. Paul Baker is a Primary Health/Rural and Remote Nurse Practitioner working in Prison Health Services for West Moreton Hospital and Health Service. He has 20 years of nursing experience with a decade of correctional nursing including 6 years in the Nurse Practitioner position. Paul believes that Prison and Correctional nursing is one of the most rewarding yet challenging areas in which to work, and has a passion for mentoring the next generation of prison health nurses to attain their goals of becoming an NP. He has a special interest in emergent care and acute diagnoses and their interplay with substance abuse disorders. He is a registered opiate treatment prescribe and hopes to assist treating patients with compassion and dignity as they move through the prison system and eventual discharge into a multidisciplinary health network.
