Paul A. Jones

Paul Jones has been leading the creation of technical solutions and architectures at Cisco for 17 years. He spent 8 years as a Systems Engineer with US Federal and Enterprise customers before moving to Cisco Corporate Marketing for 4 years as an Industry Solution Architect specializing in Retail, Financial Services and Healthcare Solutions. In that role, he collaborated with a global team of Cisco and technology partner experts to create some award winning solutions centered around Payment Card Industry Compliance, Unified Communications, Lean Retail Architectures, and Retail Banking.

In 2009, Paul began a 100% focus on Healthcare customers as a Customer Solution Architect designing solutions and architectures for Kaiser Permanente. That account more than tripled product and services bookings over 4 years to become one of Cisco’s largest US Enterprise accounts at more than $100M per year during Paul’s tenure on the account. Paul expanded his impact joining Cisco’s Connected Health Services team as a Global Healthcare Architect developing healthcare solutions, leading the creation and delivery of new assessment and architecture strategy services and evangelized Cisco’s Medical Grade Network Architecture. Paul is currently a Healthcare Practice Architect on Cisco’s Business Transformation team.

Prior to joining Cisco Systems, Mr. Jones spent 12 years in IT engineering and operations management at Novell and Space Systems/Loral.

Mr. Jones has published a number of papers on Industry solutions and architectures and lead the creation of multiple Cisco Validated Designs including the Medical Grade Network Architecture, PCI Solutions for Retail and Healthcare, Lean Retail Architecture and Remote Expert. Paul has represented Cisco as a technology expert, speaker and panelist at various Industry events, trade shows, and conferences including HIMSS, IMN HealthImpact, National Retail Federation Trade Show, Cisco Live and at Cisco’s Enterprise Technical Advisory Board. Mr. Jones is a Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems (CPHIMS), has a B.S. in Business Administration, a B.A. in Management, a certificate in Advanced Program Management from Stanford, and has earned multiple technical certifications from Novell, Microsoft and Cisco Systems.

Outside of Cisco, Paul enjoys family time with his 3 kids in the SF Bay Area and the Sierra mountains. On the weekends, he also enjoys performing on stages across the US in his tribute band, Fleetwood Mask.
