Patrick Statham is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England, a former Council member of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons (SBNS), and of the British Association of spinal surgeons(BASS). He is currently Chair of the UK Spinal Societies Board, an overarching Board that helps integrate the best of spinal research, physiotherapy, other manual therapies, and surgery for spinal diseases.
He has been the neurosurgical advisor to the Chief Medical Officer in Scotland and is a Board member of the Managed Surgical Network for Neurosurgery in Scotland. his research interests are in acute cauda equina syndrome, cervical arthroplasty, and pituitary and skull base surgery.
