Patrick Maynard PhD

Dr. Patrick Maynard is a seasoned leader in publicly funded services and a champion of the social-entrepreneurial model, fostering collaboration, innovation, and improved outcomes for individuals with complex needs. With a background in psychology, he began his career as the country moved to deinstitutionalize mental health care. This shift sparked his passion for transforming systems rather than just treating individuals.

Over more than 30 years, Dr. Maynard has revitalized stagnant nonprofit organizations, helping them grow sustainably while staying focused on those they serve. Since becoming President and CEO of I Am Boundless, Inc. in 2015, he has led the organization from a $25 million local provider to a $90 million statewide network supporting thousands of children and adults with intellectual, developmental, and behavioral health challenges. A native of Wooster, Ohio, Dr. Maynard holds degrees from The Ohio State University, Pepperdine University, and Ohio University, with post-doctoral studies at Harvard’s Kennedy School. He is known not only for his strategic leadership but for the deep personal connection he maintains to Boundless’ mission, often citing the transformative journeys of those served as his greatest reward.
