Dr. Hrdlicka is a nucleic acid chemistry group with interests at the interface of chemistry, molecular biology, and materials science. He specifically aims to develop: - novel methodologies for site-specific and sequence-unrestricted targeting of double-stranded DNA - probes for detection of nucleic acids including those with single nucleotide polymorphisms - antisense oligonucleotides with improved hybridization and pharmacokinetic properties - nanomaterial-based sensors for detection of threat agents.
