Dr. Massey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, graduating with honors from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in Baltimore. He completed his medical education at Jefferson College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa., and followed that with an internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at LSU Health Shreveport. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston, Tex., prior to returning to Shreveport as a partner in The Orthopaedic Clinic. During his career Dr. Massey has coauthored articles for professional publications and has participated in presentations to share expertise on specific orthopaedic topics and services.

Dr. Massey is director of pediatric sports medicine for the LSU Health Shreveport residency program at Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport. He is a clinical assistant professor at LSU Health. He has provided athletic team coverage to the NASA astronauts as well as to the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Houston rockets and to the Houston Dynamo professional soccer club. Locally he has served as team physician to Centenary College and LSU Shreveport as well as Northwood and Southwood high schools. He has also provided support at the Independenc e Bowl and the NCAA SCAC regional baseball tournament.

Dr. Massey is board certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He holds certifications in carticel implantation, Oxford Uni-Arthroplasty, Burwin Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and the MACI technique, (Autologous cultured Chondrocytes on Porcine Collagen Membrane).
