Pat Songer NREMT-P, BS, FACPE

Pat Songer, NREMT-P, BS, FACPE, has been involved in EMS since 1990. He currently serves as the EMS Chief for UCHealth EMS in Fort Collins, CO. UCHealth EMS responds to over 30,000 calls each year across 2,500 square miles of urban and rural environments with ambulances, SORT vehicles, on ATVs and on bicycles. Pat also oversees a critical care ground and air transport program that responds to approximately 450 calls yearly. Pat has held many positions from field paramedic, flight medic, ambulance owner to his current administrative position. He also has a background as a volunteer firefighter, reserve deputy sheriff, and tactical medic. He has presented at local, regional, national and international EMS conferences on topics ranging from the use of handheld ultrasound and blood analyzers in the field to the successful marriage between EMS and Critical Access Hospitals. Under Pat’s leadership and guidance, Humboldt General Hospital EMS Rescue has become a national role model for rural healthcare delivery. Currently, as UCHealth EMS Chief, his team is establishing an Urban/Rural system of integrated response models to improve patient outcomes.
