Pasha Normahani is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer, Specialist Registrar in Vascular Surgery, and NHS Clinical Entrepreneur.
He graduated with a degree in medicine from Imperial College London and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Surgery and an MSc in Surgical Science (Distinction) for which he was awarded the Imperial College Deans Prize. Pasha was then an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow prior to undertaking his PhD in diagnostic devices and machine learning in peripheral arterial disease.
His PhD resulted in a patent filing and almost £1M in funding, including a large NIHR HTA-funded multi-center diagnostic accuracy study; Diagnostic tools to establish the presence and severity of peripheral arterial disease in people with diabetes (NIHR HTA DM PAD Study).
His primary interest is in translational research focusing on diagnostic devices, digital health, and artificial intelligence. NIHR, UKRI, and the Wellcome Trust funding currently support his work. He is also now an MBA candidate at Imperial College Business School.
His research interests are Vascular Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Diseases, Vascular Imaging, Vascular Diseases, Diabetic Foot Disease, General Surgery, and Health Economics Analysis.
