Prof. Paolo Simoni is a Chief of the Pediatric Imaging Department at Queen Fabiola Children's University Hospital (HUDERF). He graduated in medicine from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 2002 and completed his residency in medical imaging in Rome in 2006 at the University Hospital Campus-Bio-Medico. He also obtained a Master's degree in Economics and Administration from the University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne (2017).
From 2007 to 2010, he attended an internship in musculoskeletal imaging at the Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc in Brussels (UCL). From 2010 to March 2015, he was head of the musculoskeletal service at the University Hospital of Liege. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Liège in March 2015 with an original thesis on "Optimisation of radiographic imaging techniques for joint space assessment". Since June 2015, he heads of the pediatric imaging department at the University Children's Hospital " Reine Fabiola" in Brussels, with a special interest in pediatric musculoskeletal imaging.
He is the author and co-author of 78 peer-reviewed articles indexed on Pubmed, and 68 indexed on Scopus (Scopus H-index -15, 731 citations, and 17 book chapters in the field of MSK imaging). He is also the editor of a Springer book entitled “Essential Measurements in pediatric musculoskeletal Imaging”.
