Paolo Miccoli MD

Dr. Paola Miccoli is Professor at University of Pisa and Director of the Unit of Endocrine Surgery, University of Hospital Pisa. Graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery and Course in general surgery earned at the School St. Anna in 1972, Dr. Miccoli specialized in General Surgery and Surgery Emergency and first aid at University of Pisa. He also got his Master's Degree in ambulatory surgery and in thyroid and parathyroid surgery from the University of Pisa. Dr. Miccoli was the inventor of thyroidectomy surgery Minimally invasive video-assisted surgery, which turns out to be the most frequently used endoscopic surgery in the world. He was the winner of Ruggeri - the highest award given by the Italian Society of Surgery for the line of research on minimally invasive parathyroid surgery.
