Dr. Paolo Lionetti was a degree in Medicine and Surgery with full marks and honors in 1983, University of Rome "La Sapienza". Specialization in Pediatrics with full marks and honors. Ph.D. in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. From 1991 to 1992 he worked at the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology of St. Bartholomew's Hospital in London directed by prof. JA Walker-Smith and carried out research in the Mucosal Immunology laboratory directed by prof. Thomas T. MacDonald. In 1992 he was the winner of the John Harris Award at the Congress of the European Society of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Pediatric Nutrition (ESPGHAN).
In 2004 he was visiting professor at the Chicago Children's Hospital. Associate Professor since 2005 at the Department of Pediatrics, University of Florence. Head of SOC Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Meyer University Hospital of Florence. Deputy Director of the School of Specialization in Pediatrics. President of the Degree Course in Dietetics.
