Dr. Paola De Nardi is Head of the Functional Unit at the Gastroenterological Surgery Unit of the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital directed by Professor Riccardo Rosati. In the academic field, she is a contract professor at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. After graduating with honors in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan in 1986, he specialized with honors in General Surgery at the same university in 1991.
The clinical, surgical, and research activity of the doctor is aimed at neoplastic, benign, and functional pathologies of the gastrointestinal system and in particular of the colon, rectum, and anus. In this context, you perform operations with both traditional and laparoscopic techniques; she has also dedicated herself to the development of transanal techniques and the trans-perineal colo-anal anastomosis technique (“APPEAR”) applied to laparoscopic surgery of the rectum.
Dr. De Nardi is also a member of a multidisciplinary group for the integrated approach to patients with complex pelvic floor diseases or dysfunctions and for the minimally invasive treatment of multiple prolapses. She has dedicated herself to the development of reconstruction and minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of fecal incontinence and has been a member of the working group "Problems related to urinary and fecal incontinence" of the General Directorate of Health Prevention of the Ministry of Health.
