Pamela Belperio, PharmD, BCPS, is the National Public Health Clinical Pharmacist for the VA Office of Public Health/Population Health in Los Angeles, CA. Dr Belperio interacts with other VHA offices and committees to provide content expert consultation for priority initiatives of population health. In her role, she works with providers across the country and is responsible for provider education, patient safety, and quality of care initiatives and guidelines relating to pharmacotherapy of target public health conditions including the areas of Hepatitis C, HIV, and smoking cessation.

Dr Belperio is also responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of tools and materials to empower VHA clinicians to optimally manage veterans with target public health conditions, most recently the new Hepatitis C medications. She has been actively involved in fostering the development of HCV and HIV pharmacists within VA and provides oversight and coordination of education, training and tools for these pharmacists. Dr Belperio earned her doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a member of the American Association of HIV Medicine, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and American Society of Health System Pharmacists.
