Dr. Shultz received her medical degree from the University of Illinois and did her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Clinical Campus. She completed a fellowship in Addiction Medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2008. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine and a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. She practiced at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation (HBFF) in Center City, MN for 10 years and is currently a physician on the Inpatient MICD Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, MN, an affiliate of HealthEast. She has extensive teaching experience in the field and her passion is teaching other physician and health care professionals how to recognize and manage addictions. She was the Course Director for the HBFF sponsored conference entitled "Addiction Medicine for the Primary Care Provider" in 2014, 2015 and 2017. She is an Adjunct Professor for the U of MN Dept. of Community and Family Medicine.
