Pamela F. Gallin, MD, FACS is on ALL of the National Best Doctor lists: America’s Top Doctors, Best Doctors in America and America’s Top Ophthamologists. She has been awarded the Patient’s Choice Award, and Patient’s Choice for Most Compassionate Doctor, as well as Regional Best Doctors Lists: Top Doctors: New York Metro Area , New York Magazine and SuperDocs (New York Times).
Dr. Gallin graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Phi Beta Kappa) in Engineering from Washington University, St. Louis, where she received her medical degree in the top 5% of her class. Her internship at New York University was followed by a residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Gallin was one of ten national recipients of The Heed Society Fellowships, which she used to study Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at The Children’s National Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, as well as in Ophthalmic Genetics.
She continued at The Harkness Eye Institute of Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, and also studied Pediatric Ophthalmic Oncology (Retinoblastoma) at NY Presbyterian-Cornell. Dr. Gallin remained at the Harkness Eye Institute, where she was Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and the Fight for Sight Children’s Eye Clinic for decades. She has taught Eye Residents, Fellows, Pediatricians and Columbia University College of Physician and Surgeons medical students for many years. Dr. Gallin is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology (in Pediatrics) at NY Presbyterian-Columbia.
