Dr. Pallab Ray, Professor, Department of Medical Microbiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh and In-Charge, Bacteriology, is a pioneer in the rational and appropriate use of antibiotics. He initiated round the clock clinical bacteriology consultancy for diagnosis and management of serious infections for the clinical departments in the early 1990s. He has delivered many lectures on rational antibiotic therapy for doctors in hospitals and private practice. He is the Principal Investigator of ICMR “Nodal Coordinating Centre for Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in members of family Enterobacteriaceae”.
