Dr. Padmanabha Shenoy after completing his MBBS from the University of Kerala with 10 gold medals joined the prestigious JIPMER Pondicherry and completed his MD in internal medicine with 4 gold medals. Subsequently, he finished DM in clinical immunology and rheumatology from SGPGI Lucknow. During his tenure, he was chosen the best resident award of the institute. For his innovative work in scleroderma, he was awarded a plenary lecture at the American college of rheumatology, the first Indian to get the honor in 72 years of history of American college. Following this, he returned to Kerala and founded the first academic department of rheumatology at Amrita Institute of Medical Science, Kochi.
After heading the department for 5 years he founded CARE in 2014. For his contributions in the field of Rheumatology, he was awarded young rheumatologist oration by the Indian rheumatology association in 2018. His research interests are scleroderma, palindromic rheumatism, cost-effective treatment of rheumatic diseases, and evidence-based practice of alternative systems of medicines. He has many publications in reputed medical journals including the New England journal of medicine.
