Dr Paarul Prinja trained as an acute physician within the West Midlands before undertaking her training in obstetric medicine at St Thomas’s Hospital under the guidance of Professor Cathy Nelson-Piercy and Dr. Anita Banerjee. She currently works at Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust as both and Acute and Obstetric Physician. She has also trained in intermediate critical care and is proficient in using ultrasound and has accreditation in echocardiography from the Faculty of Intensive care medicine.

She was instrumental in setting up the West Midlands research collaborative and was a founding member of ‘takeAIM’, a Society for Acute Medicine initiative tasked at developing teaching events and conference for junior doctors. Simulation training and education of the multi-disciplinary team are her particular areas of interest and she teaches locally on ‘ObSIM’ and nationally on ‘MEMO – Medical emergencies in Obstetrics’
