P. David Adelson MD, FACS, FAAP, is the director of Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Phoenix Children's Hospital and holds the Diane and Bruce Halle Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neurosciences.

He is a Professor of Neurosurgery/ Child Health at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, Professor of Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic, and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering at Arizona State University.

Dr. Adelson is a nationally and internationally-recognized expert in the area of pediatric traumatic brain injury, particularly in the acute clinical management of these injured children as well as in the neural recovery and plasticity of the developing brain spinal cord, and peripheral nerve following injury. With active basic science laboratory as well as clinical research programs in areas of traumatic brain injury, brachial plexus injury, Chiari malformations, and brain machine interfaces, Dr. Adelson remains at the forefront of pediatric neuroscience care and discovery.
