Orhan K. Öz, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and holder of the Wechun Pak Professorship of Bone Biophysics. He is also Professor of Biomedical Engineering at UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and Medical Director of Nuclear Medicine at Parkland Memorial Hospital. His clinical interests include nuclear medicine, radiology, thyroid and musculoskeletal diseases, cancer and cancer imaging, with a particular interest in neuroendocrine malignancies. Dr. Öz holds a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, and mathematics from Morehouse College, and a master’s degree in applied mathematics from Clark Atlanta University. After receiving his medical degree and doctoral degree in biophysics from Stanford University, he completed residency training in radiology at UT Southwestern. During residency Dr. Öz was a member of the Clinical Scholars track during which he did a post-doctoral fellowship pursuing advanced training in radiology and molecular biology. After joining the faculty, he received advanced training in proton emission tomography (PET) at the University of California – Los Angeles.
